LBMA will launch periodic reporting on the Gold Bar Integrity (GBI) Database from 30 April 2026, allowing all Good Delivery List refiners to voluntarily start submitting country-of-origin data on a cumulative basis. The change is a clear step toward more granular supply-chain disclosure ahead of mandatory monthly reporting for all GDL refiners in 2027. The scheme is aimed at improving transparency, integrity and accountability across gold sourcing, with LBMA highlighting earlier visibility on supply chains in higher-risk locations. Refiners are being urged to test the new requirements this year so operational issues can be resolved before reporting becomes compulsory, which should reduce implementation risk and improve data consistency next year.
